ANGOLA: Brian
and Debbie Howden seek prayer for Feliz, an Angolan brother, who is due
to come to the UK for a training course on 4th February. He is responsible
for the printing work in Saurimo and the training he will receive will enable
him to maintain the machines in the printing work. They have heard that
his visa request has been denied by the British Embassy in Luanda. Ruth
Hadley is seeking to ascertain why this request has been denied. Please pray
that the Lord will open hearts and doors, that the decision will be reversed.

GHANA: Daniel Webster:
"We were especially encouraged when 7 of our young people managed to
quote the entire book of James without even a single error. I am now aware of
two young people who have come to faith in Christ, having admitted it was their
time memorizing God's Word that had influenced them to put their trust in
Christ." [MSC]
TANZANIA: Allan
and Jacque McKinnon advised they will be involved in a series of
discussions about the future of the Bible School ministry at Moshi with a number
of Zambians. Please pray that the Lord will clearly guide them in these
discussions.
In addition, they wish to thank all
those who have been praying for the current building work which is nearing the
end of Phase 2. Please continue to pray for the final completion of these
buildings and the establishment of the bore-hole, all of which are due to be
undertaken in the coming month. [EoS]
ZAMBIA: Paul and
Angela Hannay advise that their son Andrew, who is currently working at
Chengelo School, has had his work permit turned down by the immigration
authorities. Please pray that this matter will be satisfactorily resolved
to enable him to continue working at the school. [EoS]
ZAMBIA: Donald and
Elva Brooks: "We visited Mbulundu, the village which we go to once a
month for a weekend Bible Reading. What an encouragement when one of the young
elders was able to stand up and go thru the main points of what they had been
learning thru the year. Their interest in learning is a real encouragement to
us." [MSC]
ZAMBIA: Patrick and Sherry
Coleman: "We made a number of visits to members of the church and their
families who had been very ill. When somebody here has a 'long illness' it
generally refers to HIV-AIDS. This disease always ends with a funeral. Please
pray for our Christian brothers and sisters as they deal with the ultimate
consequence of their actions." [MSC]
AMERICAS
ARGENTINA: Pray for Jorge and Leonor Arekelian and Juan and
Sylvia Mendez who serve fulltime with literature. Thank God that
through the Good Seed calendar and periodicals for adults and children they
produce here interest is growing and good contacts and visits have been
increasing in neighboring BOLIVIA. [pbgroup]
ARGENTINA: Bear up the Lord's work in
ARGENTINA, especially among the 5 assemblies in this country. Thank God for
interest in reaching out to nearby lands. Pray for sisters Gertrude Berney and
Lucila Chevalley, widows of servants of the Lord, and for Evalina
Chevalley who is bringing up a number of orphans for the
Lord.[pbgroup]
BOLIVIA: Enoel and
Leisa Suarez: "I [went] to Desengaño to teach at a camp. There
were around one hundred and fifty young people there from different areas. Some
of them had travelled from small jungle villages along the river for sixty hours
by boat." [MSC]
CHILE:
Pray for the Lord's work in CHILE. Bear up the 3
assemblies at Santiago, Valparaiso, and Quillota and the outreach being done in
areas farther south. Pray for the distribution of the Good Seed gospel calendar.
Remember Hernán and Ruth Vasconcelo in their service for the Lord, even beyond
national borders. [pbgroup]
MEXICO: Pamela
Jewitt is currently in the UK awaiting a medical consultation. At
present she is experiencing considerable pain in her back and is having

NICARAGUA: David and
Elizabeth Reeve: "We have had a vision for some time of sending out
workers from Central America to the 10-40 window, that area of the world that
contains the most people who have yet to hear the Gospel. In February, Lord
willing, we hope to open a missions school here in Esteli . . . to prepare and
equip those with a serious missions interest so that they may be sent
out." [MSC]
PERU: Richard
and Pam Harknett have left the UK and are currently in Canada before
going to Peru. They are waiting for their visas and we are asked to pray
that these will be granted without delay. [EoS]
ASIA
JAPAN: Ken and Christine Cowell seek prayer
for two young men who have recently been baptised. Both have had a history
of mental illness but have made real progress. Please pray that they will
grow in the things of the Lord. [EoS]
JAPAN: Rachiel
Scott: It is great to be able to freely share the Gospel in these
[English] classes! Some of the students are doing some serious thinking. A big
problem is 'What will I tell the family?'. . . if someone becomes a Christian he
is looked on as a traitor for breaking the religious traditions."
[MSC]
PAKISTAN: Sylvia
Anderson advises that there is a great need for a doctor to cover for a
doctor’s home assignment at the Women’s Christian Hospital in Multan.
Someone was lined up to cover most of the six months but they required emergency
surgery and are unable to fulfil this commitment. This leaves just 3
doctors (1 senior and 2 junior) to cope with the existing workload. Please
pray that the Lord will overrule in this situation.

OTHER
AREAS
SPECIAL AREAS: George
and Donna Bristow: "We have started up a meeting in the afternoon for
those who want to learn more about Christianity and the Bible. This is being
organized and led totally by our [local] elder. At the first meeting they had 10
visitors. Pray that the good turnout will continue."
[MSC]
