AFRICA
Pray for the Lord's work in
BENIN. Here too assemblies are growing after many trials. Ask
the Lord to raise up more brothers who can teach the Word. Pray for the school
in the predominantly heathen village of Zounkpa, its staff and students. Bear up
Marc Ruel as he visits here and in neighboring lands from time to time.
[PB Group]
Bear up the Lord's work in
NIGER where 3 couples are working with literature and meeting
together at Niamey, the capital. Pray that the Lord may save souls and build up
a vibrant testimony to His name in this land that is 98% Muslim. Pray for
conferences taking place this Easter weekend in many places throughout the
world. [PB Group]
Continue praying for the Lord's work in
NIGERIA, the most populous nation in Africa where Muslims and
"Christians" often clash violently. Remember Klaas & Helga Rot who usually
make extended visits twice a year to help and encourage the saints. Bear up also
Siegfried Nick & Karin Helmchen who also visit here. [PB
Group]
NIGERIA: Tom and Lois
Wheeler: "This month we had the honour of a short visit by our
state Governor to commission the new hospital ward . . . We are promised a
second grant; one substantial enough to build not only another ward, but also to
buy the X-ray, and hopefully ultrasound equipment we have all been praying for."
[MSC]
TANZANIA: Ron and Maria Cunningham request prayer for the
Easter weekend meetings to be held in the Bethel and Uchira assemblies, from
Friday to Monday. It will be a busy time. [EoS]
ZAMBIA: Brian and Sandra
McCaffrey: "The building work at Amano Christian School is coming
along well . . . We would ask prayer for the 40 local men who work here, that
they would be touched by the prayers and talk that they have every morning
before they start work and that they would be saved and their lives changed."
[MSC]
ZAMBIA - Kelvin Samwata:
"There have been heavy rains in most parts of the country. In Southern
Province and especially in Kazungula area, a river burst its banks and the
surrounding region has been flooded, forcing people to leave their homes. Over
1,000 families were displaced by the floods when the Ngwezi River flooded last
month and they are now camped in tents on higher ground, away from the floods.
Houses are under water. Please pray for those affected and for the relief
effort." [MSC]
AMERICAS
BOLIVIA: Brad
& Karen Hallock: "Karen enjoys the opportunity of serving
through prayer as she meets each Monday morning to pray for the Santa Cruz
Christian Learning Centre with other parents. It has given her the chance to
meet some of the Bolivian parents and begin friendships with them. Please join
us in prayer." [MSC]
BRAZIL: Phyllis Dunning advises of a family camp due to be
held over the Easter weekend. Please pray for God’s blessing on this
event. Harry and
Beth Wilson request prayer for a conference to be held in Porto Alegre on Good
Friday. Harry and Jean
Reid (DPG Brazil 1968-90) are due to leave the UK on 11th April and will be
spending time in Brazil, returning to the UK on 26th June. Please pray that they
will have a safe flight, good health, and that their visit will be a blessing
and encouragement to the believers there.
[EoS]
COLOMBIA:
Anita and Kathleen
Keith-Gillon request prayer for meetings to be held in Bogota during
Easter week. Please pray that the Lord will prepare hearts to receive His Word.
[EoS]
ECUADOR: Janna
Fox: "God did miraculous work in the hearts of many [of our
Junior High and Senior High campers]. A lot of the guys, in particular,
surrendered their lives to Christ . . . Please pray for them. Life on the
streets hasn't changed, but they have, so resisting the temptations of old
habits and breaking out of their allegiance with gang friends are huge
challenges." [MSC]
MEXICO: Ron and
Rosalind Cavenagh: "In the jail we are seeing 20 to 25 each Tuesday,
seated, participating and learning from the lessons that we present . . . All
around we see the men who have not been seated with us listening and singing as
well . . . Men are praying with open hearts for the first time. Isn't He
wonderful?!" [MSC]
ASIA
INDIA:
Pray for the various needs of the Edward English School run at the Bengal Bible
Training (BBTI) Campus at Jamthara in Jharkhand and for Thomas
Mathew and his wife Thabitha, (formerly of Dallas,
USA), along with Santhosh Thomas (in-charge of the
BBTI) who are shouldering various responsibilities of running the
school.
INDIA:
Ron
and Lilo Penny would appreciate prayer for a training programme to be
run by a team of professionals at Kollegal Girls’ School from 10th-14th April.
They will also help to identify children with learning disabilities, discuss
career options, and give guidance to any who may be anxious about the future.
[EoS]
JAPAN: David and Esther Dexter advise of
special events being held over the Easter period. On 11th April a special Bible
Hour is planned, focusing on Easter, and a wall hanging will be made before a
talk and discussion about the event. The 16th April will be another opportunity
to reflect on the events of Easter and an occasion to which the believers can
invite others along. Ken and Christine Cowell ask for prayer for special
Children’s Meetings which are to be held on Saturday and Sunday, 15th and 16th
April. [EoS]
PHILIPPINES: Sharon Agnew:
"We're considering starting an evangelistic Bible study . . . as a way of
reaching out and sharing the Gospel more specifically with our neighbours and
parents of some of the children that attend on Saturdays. It's good to see some
of the Shepherd's Home mothers also showing a desire to reach out and invite
others, so we value prayers for this endeavour."

EUROPE
BELGIUM: Anne Dryburgh requests prayer for the older teenagers
she is in contact with. One young lady, in particular, has been difficult to get
to know, but at a recent lunch together she was quite open about her life and
interests, and last week she chatted enthusiastically to Anne for about ten
minutes, and another lunchtime meeting has been planned. Please continue to pray
for this girl, and for Anne as she seeks to win these young people for the Lord.
[EoS]
FRANCE: Jonathan and Amanda
Hanley are planning several evangelistic events to be held over the
Easter weekend. These will include a kid’s club on Saturday afternoon, and a
concert in the evening on the same day, with some musicians who will be visiting
from Cardiff. Please pray for these events, which are a good opportunity to
spread the true meaning of Easter. A similar children’s outreach two years ago
brought in over 50 children, most of them unchurched. Ronnie and
Heather Skene ask us to pray for a baptism service which is to be held on Easter
Saturday. This will be the first baptism in the new assembly at Figeac and
the candidate is a 15 year-old boy named Christopher. Another couple are
also interested in being baptised. [EoS]SPAIN: Manuel & Tracy Aleman:
"Upon the suggestion of Spain Emmaus Director, Gil Vargas, we are opening a
Southern Spain Emmaus office at home. This will allow for an expansion of the
use of courses and better service for the students in this area. At the same
time, translation of Emmaus courses continues as an ongoing project, along with
responding to questions on returned courses." [MSC]
REPUBLIC OF
IRELAND: David and Kay
Stevens remind us to pray for the Munster Christian Camps which take
place over the Easter period, and also the “Easter Speakout” in Dublin, when
David will be using a sketchboard to present the gospel message, assisted by
short term worker Eric Sneddon. Pray for David as he prepares the
sketchboard messages for the “Speakout” and Quiet Time notes for one of the
camps, where he will be the speaker. Please pray
for Stephen and Trudy Blunt, who are running a children’s club in New Ross from
the 10th-14th April. [EoS]
SPAIN:
Jesus and Helen Ortiz
seek prayer for a camp, due to be held from 13th-16th April in Almazan. Please
pray for a good attendance, and for those who attend to be challenged and
stimulated by the teaching of the Word of God. [EoS]
SPECIAL
AREAS
Roger and Yvonne
Malstead ask us to pray for a Turkish believer named “Harold”, who will
be visiting bookstores in Istanbul over the next couple of months with the aim
of placing a revolving stand of Christian books, Bibles and New Testaments in as
many locations as possible. Pray that “Harold” will have the courage and the
confidence that he needs, and that the Good News will be made available in many
places in this large city of 14 million people. [EoS]
Please remember the following GLO
Teams which are involved in evangelistic outreach activities this
coming week: Rwanda (Kigali); Albania (Vlore). Please pray that
the team members will enjoy safety of travel and good health during this time.
In addition, please pray for a good working relationship within the team, that
meaningful contacts will be made, and for lives to be touched by the gospel.

Missionary
Support Partnership
J.
Benjamin
I had a fruitful visit from April 5 to 11,
2006 to Jamthara which is about 350 Kms or 5 hours road travel from
Calcutta. During this visit, the Lord gave me opportunities of meeting several
missionaries/evangelists as well as elders of local Assemblies from the
North Indian States of Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal and to hear from them of
how the Lord has been leading them through difficulties. I also visited a
few mission fields which are inaccessible to the modern modes of
transport. I saw the difficulties faced by the evangelists in preaching
the Gospel through the difficult terrains and the difficulties of the believers
in balancing their faith with the struggle for survival. God willing, I
will be sharing in the coming weeks more details of my travel to these
places,
Details of the missionaries identified for
support are being prepared and will be available for circulation in a week's
time. In the meantime, I request your valuable prayer
for the Lord to move His people to come forward and meet the needs of these
missionaries.
Thank you.
