AFRICA

NIGERIA: Caroline Gross: "For the encouragement of my Sunday School co-workers: a Sunday School superintendent asked for 14 bags (x 400) of take-home verse cards for his district. That is nearly 5,000 out the door at one time. We needed the recently arrived packages to supply it.   [MSC]

TANZANIA: Harry and Ruth Johnson:  "Harry will be going south by wooden boat to visit a new church at Sigunga and then on . . . to the Tongwe settlement of Lubalisi. His guide will be one of the few educated Tongwe . . . Harry has had some interesting conversations with him already. Pray that he might be the first Tongwe convert."  [MSC]

AMERICAS

BELIZE: Amy Scheffel: "I continue to enjoy teaching the Scripture classes, and I'm very encouraged by the students who accepted the Lord last term. I had given them Mailbox Club lessons to work on over the break, and most of them have brought them back eager to get more. I gave one student a Bible, and it's so nice to see how she cherishes it." [MSC]

HONDURAS: Ivan and Carol Franck: School continues to be very demanding . . . Our students have warmed up a great deal to us, especially as they know of our commitment to keep serving here for the coming years . . . Please pray for a good conclusion to this school year, in a way that honours God, and for some summer arrangements to come together." [MSC]

MEXICO: Mrs. Dorothy Harris:  (written 7 March, by daughter Julie Harris) My mom is now with the Lord; she passed away March 4. We are very grateful that our beloved Lord is now taking care of her . . . Her funeral was lovely, a very warm tribute from family and brothers and sisters in Christ that loved her so much and saw in her a beautiful
example of a Christian woman." [MSC]

NICARAGUA: Tony and Danelle Flett: "We would like to have Gospel meetings in a little housing development in the Dolores area where there has been a children's work for the past year and a half. It is a rural area and has no electricity, so we will try to have meetings in the late afternoon before it gets dark. Please pray that we will have the needed strength to carry out the work at hand." [MSC]

ECUADOR: Timothy and Lillian Horne:  "Two of our nine [short-term] groups have come and gone and have made a real dent in the work [at the new camp property] . . . We are thankful to all who have come to lend their support and pitch in, and also to those who are praying and who have given so that camp can become a reality for the churches in Guayaquil." [MSC]

ASIA

JAPAN: Peter and Mary Clift:  "After 10 days in the hospital, Bob (Clift - Day 8) drove home by himself, and felt good enough . . . to lead the service in church the next morning. More tests and consultations with a blood circulation specialist are planned this week. We're painfully aware that the options are limited. The ideal . . . would be for a good clear healing, but while you pray for that, please pray that we all will truly glorify our Lord in this whole affair."  [MSC]

JAPAN:  Ronnie and Anne Cairns seek prayer for two lectures that Ronnie is due to give on 19th and 26th March.  He will be dealing with the subject “One God or many gods - culture, history and us”.  They anticipate distributing a large quantity of leaflets promoting these lectures, which will also be advertised in the newspapers.  The lecture format  attracts people who would never otherwise enter a church building.  Please pray for meaningful contacts to be made and lives touched by the Gospel. [EoS]

JAPAN: Robert Clift: (from a phone call from his father, Peter Clift) Robert went into hospital in Nagoya on Monday, March 13, under the care of the number one doctor in Japan in this specialty (cardiovascular surgery). SPECIAL AREAS

Jerry and Sarah Mattix:  "Hospitality continues to occupy most of our evenings. Most of the people we have over or visit are unsaved. Every one of them has heard the Gospel at least once, but most probably half a dozen times. We continue to pray and share, hoping the Lord will open their hearts to the truth." [MSC]

Adib & Hala Daghfal: "A young Christian, just months in the faith, has a heart for reaching his small town. He loaded his bags with books and Bibles to take home with him . . . His only regret was that he couldn't take more. May God give us all more zeal like this young Christian." [MSC]
