GHANA - Daniel Webster: "The opportunities to make the Gospel known more widely continue to abound for us here in Ghana. We have continued with our Saturday evangelistic outreaches in nearby villages, and continue to see much interest in the Gospel. We frequently have the joy and privilege of leading others to place their trust in Christ as their only hope for heaven. We make it our practice to return to the same village for two or three weeks of gospel tract distribution to ensure that we cover the ground well with the good seed of God's word. Then we often speak with the town officials to seek permission to come and preach the Gospel on a Saturday evening. We have yet to be turned down (PTL!). Our last gospel presentation was in Dominase and we had a crowd of about 200 that gathered to listen. We gave strong appeals to them to take Christ as their personal Saviour, and we cannot be sure whether some turned in with the offer of eternal life, but there was a very enthusiastic response to our offering them John 3:16 Seed Sowers texts." [MSC]

NIGERIA - Jim Gillett: "As Louis Kreusel, Brian Johnson, and I leave for Nigeria on February 20, God willing, we are conscious of our need for your daily fervent prayers. As economic conditions in Nigeria continue to deteriorate, there is increasing desperation on the part of the people. This results in more robberies, more frequent road blocks on the road by hungry policemen who are not being paid their wages on time, etc. Since we will be driving thousands of miles in Nigeria, we will greatly value your upholding us at the Throne of Grace." [MSC]

TANZANIA:  Stephen and Gill Davies advise that they are continuing to learn Kiswahili and we are asked to pray that the Lord will help them in this necessary discipline. [EoS]

ZAMBIA: Mark and Pamela Ronald: "Our new school year started on January 18 when we welcomed 15 new students . . . Mark will be responsible for the planning and teaching of many of the grades 5-8 classes. Pray that we might be the 'parents' that these students need us to be as well as being their teachers, etc. As you can imagine, some of the new students are very homesick." [MSC]

AMERICAS

BOLIVIA: Eugene & Loraine Train: "We are looking forward to celebrating the Camiri Christian School's Fiftieth Anniversary on March 6th. There will be celebrations and other activities for a week. Our new Director, Gabriel Meiers, will be installed. Many former teachers will attend and students will come and have the opportunity to share. Please pray for the school this year." [MSC]

COLOMBIA:  Anita and Kathleen Keith-Gillon advise that whilst a portion of their roof was removed to enable essential repairs to be undertaken to the guttering, a storm occurred and damaged some of their contents and carpets.  Please remember this matter in your prayers.  In addition they advise that a public demonstration in support of the ‘Gay Movement’ is due to be held in Armenia on 24th February, and we are asked to remember this matter in our prayers also. [EoS]

EL SALVADOR: Emily McCandless: "[We were given] permission to distribute layettes ... and calendars in the [maternity] hospital .... The doctor also asked us to donate the 'first babies of the year' baskets, including a text/calendar.... Please continue to pray for this outreach. The doctor is so grateful for the contributions each time we visit." [MSC]

ROMANIA - Sue Bates:  "On January 30, we went to court for the final decision as to whether Inasmuch will be closed and the girls cast out on the streets - just as we found them. The Department of Child Protection didn't even come to the trial. So, it was postponed until February 27. Every person and every lawyer has said it is impossible to win mainly because of Romania's judicial system and corruption. But God is greater than all this." [MSC]

SPAIN: Les & Sharon Frey: "Family Life ministry will take us north to Bilbao on March 4, to finish the second part of our weekend marriage conference there. Pray for the couples attending and for us as we give the talks." [MSC]

SPECIAL AREAS

VARIOUS AREAS: Roger and Yvonne Malstead have been praying for ways to bring their literature before the large number of small bookshops throughout the smaller cities and towns in their country of service. They have been advised of an individual who visits these outlets with a revolving book stand, and are considering the possibility of utilising his expertise to display their material.  It is possible that this arrangement will run for a trial period of three months, and we are asked to pray that the requisite bookshop managers will be willing for such literature to be displayed and that the various titles will be read and bought. [EoS]

SPECIAL AREAS: Maria: "Please pray for 5 young children who were saved at the summer Sunday School . . . While I have little opportunity for follow-up, one of my close [national] friends can remain in contact. We had 15 to 25 children attend those meetings."  [MSC]

OUT REACH WORK IN CHAMBAL AREA OF MADHYA PRADESH, INDIA

GWALIOR: Joseph Varghese, Evangelist, Believers Assembly, Morar and Ranjit Kumar Bagh, Evangelist, Believers Assembly, Gwalior write:

"We are happy share the following matters regarding the work of the Lord in the Chambal area of [the North Indian State of] Madhya Pradesh for prayer and praises. Both the assemblies [Morar and Gwalior] together are involved.

Gwalior Tade Fair is a commercial fair held every year from 26 Dec to 10 Feb. Since several years we have been conducting outreach work by opening a bookstall. This year, we had the “Jesus” and “Daya Sagar” films shown in T.V every evening. We prayerfully distributed this year about 8,000 copies of the John's Gospel in Hindi and thousands of tracts and booklets. We also had special arrangements for counseling people who needed help.  We are much encouraged by the good response it evinced from the people..

Discipleship Training programme:  We conducted two training programmes in 2005. 40 new believers attended from Dabra, Datia and Shivpuri Disricts.  11 believers obeyed the Lord in baptism and 2 brothers went for further discipleship training programme.  We are now involved in contact programme and out reach in the above districts on a regular basis. All these young brothers who accepted Lord as their Lord and Saviour are regularly attending our village fellowship meetings.

We have two small assemblies, one gathering AT DATIA where Bro Rajendar Singh, a local person helping us in the ministry lives. We took a rented house there and our brother is staying there and looking after the ministry.  We are covering 12 villages around Datia.

AT DABRA our Bro Rajkumar who is also a local, is looking after the village work. We are covering 8villages from Dabra, and the response has been good. Please pray and support these two young brothers. We are regularly going to villages and staying there contacting people and conducting “sat sang”(fellowship meetings) every week.

Lord willing, we will be conducting our third phase of Discipleship Training Programme from 4 to 11 May 2006. Other Assemblies in Madhya Pradesh have expressed the need and desire to participate in such a training programmes. We are therefore planning to conduct this programme at Ebenezer School in Morar.  The number of new believers expected is around 100 this time. The estimated expense for this camp is around Rs.1 lac [Rs 100,000 which is US$ 2,500). Prayerful contributions are solicited from brethren who have been burdened.

We have been praying for a small gathering place in Datia town since few months. There are 8 families (15 believers) and children gathering there every Sunday.  Our desire is to put up a thatched shed big enough for people to gather for fellowship. We the undersigned urge you to continue in prayer for the on going ministries here." [eMail]
