Macedonian Believers Giving
Paul comments of the Macedonian believers’ giving:

… that in a great trial of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their
deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality.  For I bear
witness that according to their ability, yes, beyond their ability, they
were freely willing.
(2 Cor 8.3)

Macedonian Giving 2 Cor 8:1-3

1.  According to their ability (Budgeted)

2.  Beyond their Ability (Faith Promise)

Budged Giving (Giving regularly)

Budgeted as a priority item, as house rent, car loan, children’s
school fees, etc.
Giving to missions what a believer can truly afford.

Faith Promise Giving

An attitude rather than giving – widow with two mites.  Rests
confidently in God’s ability to provide, not on a believer’s
ability to give.  Faith ascends to new heights!

Is the Promise really made in faith?

If the promise can easily be afforded, it does not require faith
If the promise is not a challenge, it may not stretch a person’s
faith.
Budgeted
Faith Promise
Based on our ability
Beyond our ability
Reliance on our means
Reliance on God’s provision
Not required faith
Stretch our faith
Inexpensive
Expensive
Based on Bank Balance
Based on Faith Balance
How much should be our Faith Promise?

God gave His Son to redeem the world Jesus gave His life to
save you and me.   Shouldn’t we give more to reach the lost
than we spend on our own pleasures?
